Midfielder James Forrest returns from suspension, but Majstorovic's absence leaves Thomas Rogne as the only recognised central defender available.
Hearts strikers Kevin Kyle and Calum Elliot remain injury doubts.
Rudi Skacel showed no ill-effects from a recent calf problem and should continue, but fellow winger Andrew Driver still lacks match fitness.
Hearts travel to face the Scottish Premier League leaders bidding to extend their 11-match unbeaten away run and looking to build on Saturday's 1-0 win over reigning champions Rangers.
The Edinburgh side are third in the table, seven points behind Celtic but with a game in hand.
Celtic defender Thomas Rogne:
"I am probably the only true central defender left, but we have boys who can step in and do a job.
"I don't know who is playing beside me yet, but Charlie did a good job in the last game and Willo (Wilson) can play centre-half. So we will be fine - it's not a crisis.
"It's a strange situation, of course, but these things happen with injuries and everything and you just have to deal with it.
"There is always a responsibility when you play and maybe a bit extra now that I'm the only centre-half, but that's something I am looking forward to."
Hearts manager Jim Jefferies:
"It was a big result at Kilmarnock as that was the first time we have come from 1-0 down at a difficult place.
"That shows we had the bottle to come through that. We showed it again on Saturday when we were not playing at our best.
"We dug in there, so we have answered the question so far. Whether we can do it the more the pressure comes, we will soon find out."
